Optimal enjoyment of nature

The beach Schoorl is only accessible by bicycle. The route through the dunes is breathtaking, with about twenty minutes of cycling you arrive at the sea. If you prefer to go by car, Hargen aan zee and Camperduin are highly recommended. Bergen aan zee is very busy during the high season and often the parking places are quickly occupied. Of course you can also choose the beautiful cycling routes through the dunes or via Bergen center.

Buitencentrum Schoorlse duinen, from the center many routes start through the dune area. You can go here for your walking / cycling card, natural facts, gift shop or for a delicious lunch or coffee. For the children there is a nice outdoor playground where they can play safely. Dogs are not allowed in this area. There is a gnome path with nice commands (info at the desk) and a special route where you can walk with the pram. The center also organizes fun workshops, special walks and other events.

In the dune area of Schoorl is a mountain bike trail of 15 km. You can rent mountain bikes in the center of Schoorl. If you are a beginner, we advise you to explore the course under supervision. Cows, sheep and / or wild horses run in certain areas .... keep that in mind.

The climbing dune is a 51-meter-high sand dune that directly connects to an extensive dune and forest area. At the bottom of the climbing dune you will find cozy terraces and restaurants. In the months of July and August every Tuesday evening there is a cozy fair in the square and in the center.

De Berenkuil, a ydillian place for a simple lunch, cup of coffee or other snacks. This beautiful spot lies along the route to the sea. On the hiking map you can see which routes pass the bear pit. Limited opening in low season.
